SENATE COMMITTEE WANTS RAIL BUILT INTO $1.65bn LEKKI DEEP SEAPORT.
The Senate Committee on Marine Transport has suggested that the Tolaram Group, sponsors of the Lekki Deep Seaport, should include rail transportation in their construction works to avoid gridlock along the port access road. The Chairman of the Committee, Sen. Ahmed Yerima, made the suggestion during an oversight function of the committee on Monday in Lagos.

TO fast track and boost land administration in Lagos state, Lagos Lands Bureau has commenced an Integrated Land Administration and Automation System (ILAAS), that is expected to benefit prospective land seekers, investors and corporate bodies operating in the state, as the system is devoid of all forms of bottlenecks that could slow down and make difficult business of land transactions in Lagos.
DANGOTE 17bn DOLLARS REFINERY TO CREATE 300,000 JOBS — OFFICIAL.
The Dangote Industries Limited 17 billion-dollar refinery project will create over 300,000 direct and indirect jobs by the first quarter of 2019, the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Olakunle Alake, has said. Alake made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Monday, adding that the refinery, petrochemicals and fertiliser plants were in one location.
LEKKI FREE ZONE: LASG RELEASES N1.6bn, WOOS INVESTOR.
The Lagos State Government on Thursday said it had released the sum of N1.6 billion as part of its equity contribution to the Lekki Free Zone Development Company (LFDC).
The Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Mr Rotimi Ogunleye, made the remark at the 2016 Ministerial Media briefing in Lagos. He said that this was to boost the ongoing infrastructural development in the zone, as well as encourage investors’ participation in the project.
